I just filed for membership with Ár nDraíocht Féin. Not sure when after this I'll start working on the Dedicant's Program. Documenting the eight Sabbats would be the most difficult without, you know, a way of getting to them.
It feels like autumn. The air is starting to chill and the breeze is coming in. I think it's time I pulled on a jacket and go enjoy my favorite season.
I feel good :D

Started and nearly finished with my stang/staff. A few brown spots still need removing, part of the fork needs trimming (need a saw or a heavy hedge trimmer for that), and I want to sand the wood smooth. After that, I might wrap it with some leather just beneath the top and maybe in the middle, as well as cap the bottom (the real tricky part). Anything else will come later down the road. Not quite traditional... it's not ash wood. *is attacked by the Fifth Troll Brigade of the Mean Poohead Trad Witches*
Buckling down on daily practice. Read through "Evolutionary Witchcraft" in it's entirety for the second and a half time and so I'm now going to take it chapter by chapter while monitoring my progress with posts here. Anyone reading Da Journal will have fair warning with Da Subject.
I hear by declare myself tsar of this journal. I realize that this is belated in the game, but I felt it should be announced formally.

It has come time to admit it: I want Pagan community. I want to be part of a group, have people I can share thoughts and ideas with, and take part in rituals. And I have come to a decision: I will seek out the ADF in my area, or closet to here. I have many reasons for this: the bullshit/twinkie/fluffy factor will probably be the lowest of any group, I won't worry about having to keep debating to myself, and I'll have the best chance of meeting intelligent people.
This isn't to say that I won't at least investigate other groups, just that the local ADF might be the best suited for me. And, I don't know... I may even pursue becoming a member and doing the Dedicant program. I have read the website and I like what I see, and I find no problem thus far with pursuing other groups as well (such as Feri, which has been calling strongly).

It's summer solstice and I have nothing planned. I feel weird/silly going all out for celebration on my own, so I'm just going to cook something really peppery and spicy... very masculine.
I am thy mate, I am thy man
Goat of thy flock,
I am gold, I am God
Flesh to thy bone, flower to thy rod
With hoofs of steel, I race to the rocks
Through solstice stubborn, to Equinox
And I rape; and I rend
Everlasting, world without end,
Manekin, maiden, maenad, man
In the might of Pan!
-Aleister Crowley
